Summer...

July in our home is a month full of summer activity...for the past three years we have had a son playing on the county all-star baseball team and the past two summers our oldest has been swimming with the local swim team. Our mornings are lazy and slow, such a nice change from our school year mornings. But our evenings...well for a few weeks it is full steam ahead, split up to get kids to practices, meets, and games...  This week marked the starting line for this years summer activities...The last weekend of July is the finish line...

And how are our little doers you ask...

Emily has cut time off of her events every week...and after a pectoral injury sidelining her in June, she is back to swimming ahead of her age group with the high school kids. Jeremiah is having a much needed break after nearly three straight years of non-stop baseball. He loves the slow morning and pool time in the afternoons.Joshua is thriving on his All-Star team this summer. He is a leader on the team and the coaches use him to demonstrate to the others and lead by example. Bethany is our first ever soccer player. Her season will start this fall. We signed her up for a great little Christian program after asked if there were any sports for little girls that would let them run and run...Jonathan has really begun to overcome his fear of the water and loves the pool. He has a terrific imagination and entertains himself with play time whenever the other children are busy. And Jude has learned to crawl and is starting to cruise the furniture! He is growing up much to fast!!! He loves his daddy and calls for him all day!

July is also the time of the year in which I plan our next years home school plans. Currently Jesse and I are reviewing and trying to decide what will be best for our family this year. This is always the hardest and most labor intensive part of the process! When the decision is final I will be so happy! I am eager for a relaxed August... I cannot wait for the down time before the start of another school year!
